The Engineering skill is one of the five crafting skills along with Chemistry, Enchanting, Electronics, and Medical.

The following recipes become available when you are qualified to utilize them. There are hidden recipes you'll have to find in-game.

Name:  Tier 1 Pistol

Not that great of a pistol

Effort Required:  2

Materials Required:  1 Gearing Component, 1 Structural Component, 1 Pistol Frame

“There are better recipes for firearms out there, but none simpler.”

LEVEL 2

Name:  Armored Vest

Armor Value 15

Effort Required: 4

Materials Required: 4 Structural Components

“The plates themselves aren’t hard to make.  Figuring out how to balance them so the vest doesn’t tear is tricky.”

LEVEL 3

'Name:  Alloyed Metal (COMPONENT)

Effort Required: 5

Materials Required: 2 Structural Components

“Takes work to get the impurities out.”

Name:  Junk Launcher

Notes:  Requires Heavy Weapons Skill.  Nerf attack, Damage = 20 explosive.  Call = “20 Explosive!”  Uses 1 unit of salvage as 6 shots of ammo.

Effort Required: 6

Materials Required:  1 Alloyed Metal, 1 Gearing Component, 2 Pistol Frames, 1 Battery

“Utilizes basic combustion and elementary physics to throw jagged metal at your foes.  The recoil on this is considerable, so it’s not easy to use without heavy weapons training.”

Name:  Lined Coat

Armor Value 20

Effort Required: 6

Materials Required: 4 Alloyed Metal, 1 Tension Wire

“Metal-ceramic plates, held in place by a reinforced wire net.  Makes one trenchcoat’s worth.”

'Name:  Tension Wire (COMPONENT)

Effort Required: 5

Materials Required: 2 Gearing Components

“High-strength wire, that can be used to reinforce, or rig delicate mechanisms.”

Name:  Tier 2 Longarm

Better Longarm

Effort Required:  6

Materials Required:  1 Longarm Frame, 2 Alloyed Metal, 1 Gearing Component, 1 Structural Component

“Makes a solid firearm, that has no real weaknesses.  These are reliable and sturdy.”

Name:  Tier 2 Pistol

Better Pistol

Effort Required: 6

Materials Required:  1 Pistol Frame, 1 Alloyed Metal, 1 Gearing Component

“You could probably drop a pistol like this in a river, and it’d still work fine.”

LEVEL 4

Name:  Breach Mantle

Requires both hands. Blocks Explosives and Bullets.

Effort Required: 8

Materials Required:  4 Alloyed Metal, 4 Structural Components

“The end product can shrug off gunfire like it was hail on a tin roof.  Not fun, and it’ll leave you sore afterwards, but you’ll be guaranteed against 90% of the firearms that are shot your way.”

LEVEL 5

Name:  Armored Duster

Armor Value 25

Effort Required:  10

Materials Required: 1 Lightweight Alloy, 2 Tension Wire

“You might survive one grenade with this, if you’re tough.  One.  Won’t be fun, but you MIGHT survive.”

'Name:  Lightweight Alloy (COMPONENT)

Effort Required: 9

Materials Required: 1 Alloyed Metal, 1 Accelerant

“Burn out the impurities, temper what’s left, and apply a chemical wash.”

'Name:  Gyroscope (COMPONENT)

Effort Required: 10

Materials Required:  1 Tension Wire, 4 Circuitry Components

“Balances, Corrects, and generally keeps things in line.”

Name:  Riot Gear

Armor Value 30

Effort Required: 10

Materials Required:  2 Lightweight Alloy, 2 Bonding Compound

“Form-fitting vacuum-molded ceramplas suit.  Capable of shrugging off enough small-arms fire to drop a grizzly bear.”

Name:  Sniper Rifle

Requires Longarms.  Requires 2 hands on the weapon and bipod bracing to fire.  Damage = 10.  Cannot be fired if target is less than 10 feet away. Users with the Headshot skill may use an additional, free headshot for every Headshot skill expended with this weapon.

Effort Required: 10

Materials Required:  1 Longarm Frame, 1 Lightweight Alloy, 1 Gyroscope, 2 Structural Components, 1 Microprocessor

“This is a work of art…  A heavy caliber rifle, with all the bells and whistles.  Keep this beauty clean and oiled, and she’ll hole a skull at a hundred paces.”

Name:  Tier 3 Longarm

Requires Longarms.  Requires 2 hands on the weapon when firing.  Uses Refined bullets. Damage = 10

Effort Required:  10

Materials Required:  1 Longarm Frame, 2 Lightweight Alloy, 1 Gyroscope, 1 Structural Component

“Now THIS is a high-performance gun.  Use it carefully, and make sure it gets plenty of maintenance...”
